Help for hoarding tenants

Last month saw a busy three days for The National Housing Federation at their Annual Conference and Housing Exhibition in Birmingham. In one session, the Chartered Institute of Housing initiated a discussion on ways that landlords are tackling the problem of vulnerable . In order to address the issue and to support housing associations, the CIH has  produced a free ‘how to’ guide on tackling hoarding – download your copy .

Insightful Discussions at NHF ConferenceHousing 1

The NHF Conference generated lots of interest, trending on Twitter during its first day with discussions centred on the uncertain future for housing associations.

As the conference progressed, Baroness Warwick put forward three values to strengthen UK housing for the future: unity, professionalism and passion. To round off the conference, sessions addressed the longevity of the UK’s rapidly growing economy – for an overview of the event, click here.

Proposals to build 1m homes

In light of these issues, it was particularly heartening to hear the government’s announcement of a proposal to build 1 million new homes by 2020. Housing minister Brandon Lewis stated,

“By the end of this parliament, success would mean that we have seen a build in total of something like a million homes.”
